Waiting till the last minute

Am I the only one that waits till the last minute to get my entries into juried shows? Geesh, I have only had 1 yr to get my stuff finished and ready to go and I waited until last night to finish an edging and submit.

Last night at 8pm, finishing up one of my entries! But I did make the deadline which (pretty proud of myself) is tonight. I was a whole day ahead of time, that has to count as something, right?

Hope everyone has a good hump day, keep creating and adding color, texture and beauty to the world!

Fun New Discovery

This morning as I was cruising my favorite blogs I found a fun new toy, Palette Builder 2.1 by Anne Sullivan of Play Crafts. It is super easy to use and its FREE!!!
You simply upload a photo from your computer and Palette Builder will give you the colors in the photo, I can see hundreds of uses for this little tool.

Check it out here and let me know how you like it and what you might use it for.
(you can move the little dots around to select color areas)

Getting crazy at work!!

I have been busy finishing my collage paintings for Psychic Kelli Miller, who is awesome by the way, check out her workshops or schedule a one on one with her, you will be amazed.

These paintings have been amazing to work on, I just let whatever was supposed to happen, happen. I hope she likes them. I used a love letter from a man in Omaha to his sweetheart in western Nebraska and some old pictures from around the same time, 1927 to tell their story. I wonder if they ever ended up together....... I can't wait to get started on my next project, I am loving making a mess and creating something from my heart.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

New Adventure's

I have been going in a little different direction creatively. I am doing some collage and painting with acrylics. I signed up for Kelli Rae Roberts on line class, thinking "oh this might be kinda fun".  Well I have fallen in love with mixed media collage and paint!  She as taught me how to take her process and make it mine, how to get my voice on the canvas and not worry about the outcome to "just enjoy the process. I even sold a piece and got a commission piece. I would recommend her workshop to anyone with a spark of interest.
These are a couple of the ones I am working on now. Pink isn't a color I usually go to, but I am liking the results. I can't wail until work is over so I can go home and play, its like living the childhood that I never had. Fun stuff!!
